Janowski, Tara D.

Tara brings a distinctive combination of scientific training, business acumen, and legal expertise to her aviation law practice. Before entering law, Tara built a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry, holding sales and commercial leadership roles with both Fortune 500 pharmaceutical corporations and start-up biotech companies. She excelled in launching novel therapeutics through her ability to navigate complex regulatory processes and build strategic collaborations with leading global medical experts to advance brand recognition and patient advocacy.

Motivated by a lifelong passion for aviation and a dream to pursue her law degree, Tara attended the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law, where she graduated cum laude and served on the UMKC Law Review Board. She authored and published a law review article focusing on airline passenger rights, which was recognized with a nomination for the national Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing award. In addition, Tara received the CALI Excellence award in Taxation of Business Organizations.

Her dedication to aviation law has been recognized through both scholarship and in her professional engagement. Tara’s legal training includes an internship with the Chief Counsel of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in Washington, D.C., as well as litigation experience with an aviation defense firm. She is a recipient of the ABA Air & Space Law Forum Scholarship and has participated as a panel speaker at the International Aerospace Women’s Association (IAWA) Annual Conference. She remains active through memberships in IAWA, Women in Aviation International (WAI), the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), and the ABA’s Air & Space Law Section, keeping her connected to industry leaders and developments.

With a diverse professional background and a genuine love for aviation, Tara provides a thoughtful and strategic approach on complex issues at the intersection of aviation and the law.
